About Us

Chris has substantial experience across UK financial services and is an experienced entrepreneur.  Before founding Atelier, he built a leading mortgage intermediary business, which exited to a major Wall Street Bank, held a strategic mortgage consulting role in a high street lender, and delivered the infrastructure to launch a challenger bank’s mortgage business. He has also consulted for some of the specialist lending market’s leading brands.

He is an elected Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and holds a Masters (first class) in Financial Services Management, majoring in risk and regulation.

Paul was formerly the Lead Partner at Arthur Andersen’s restructuring practice, and is currently Chairman of the Dublin-based developer Marlet. He has also served in both executive and non-executive director roles in a number of high-growth businesses. He has a long-standing and close relationship with M&G Investments, Atelier Capital Partners’ lead investor, and he brings a strong focus on financial rigour and governance as Atelier builds a strong and stable platform for growth.

Paul is an experienced and commercially-minded CFO with an strong background within financial services and real estate sectors. He is responsible for the financial management and strategy of the group, managing Atelier’s key funder relationships and working alongside members of the executive team on credit and operational matters.

Prior to specialising in real estate lending, Paul worked at a top-tier hedge fund and investment bank covering a diverse and complex range of asset classes with a focus on risk. He began his career in real estate tax at BDO LLP, with clients including British Land and The Candy Brothers, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

He holds BA (Hons) degree in Finance, Economics and Management from the University of Nottingham.

John is one of the most experienced property finance lawyers within the marketplace. He is recognised by his peers, former clients and colleagues as an expert with a commercial mindset and an excellent technical understanding of UK real estate finance. 

John manages the legal aspects of all lending, alongside leading the legal function at Atelier, providing legal advice to the Board and Executive Team. He also advises on Atelier’s capital markets activities, business policies and governance.

Prior to joining Atelier, John practised banking law in the City for over 30 years and acted for many of the leading lenders, including all the principal clearing banks.

John has an MA from Oxford University and is a member of the Law Society.

Alan is a corporate banker and chartered accountant with over 25 years' experience in banking and real estate finance.  Alan chairs Atelier’s Credit Committees and oversees credit appetite and credit policy, managing a team of Senior Investment Managers who are responsible for assessing loan opportunities, completing due diligence and preparing credit papers.

He has a technical eye for detail and can structure solutions to complex and difficult transactions, articulating these to brokers, borrowers and professional teams.

Alan has an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh, is a Chartered Banker and Chartered Accountant.
